MY FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL

My first week of school has been exciting. I have met many new people. The school is filled with teachers and students. I am adjusting to the time difference and American culture. This is my first year studying in the United States. I finally have my uniform and my class schedule. I went to some of my classes today and received a syllabus which gives me information about what I can expect for the semester. I am most excited about my ESOL and Bible class. Some of my classes seem like they may be difficult, but I know I can study hard and will do okay.

My Host Family

I met my host family for the first time last week. I picked up my students from the airport with their many bags. It was so exciting to finally meet them. I had been preparing to meet them all summer. When we got home, they were very sleepy. They have adjusted to the time difference, though, and have started their new year at school already.

I have three host daughters this year. Sharon and Esther are both in the 8th grade. They are very sweet. Sharon is very talkative and brave. Her favorite color is pink. Esther is shy and kind. She loves black and white. Charlotte is in the 10th grade. She likes mint green and is polite and quiet.
